BASE: Wildcats Lose Split DH on Final Day in Florida.

Auburndale, Fl.- The SUNY Poly men's baseball team lost both games of a split doubleheader in Florida to wrap up their spring trip. The Wildcats lose to SUNY Maritime 8-6, before falling to Union 8-4. With the losses, the Wildcats move to 8-8 on the season.

GAME 1:

In the first game, the Wildcats got on the board first after Parker Wing scored on an error. Over the course of the game, the Wildcats would score in five different innings, but it wasn't enough as SUNY Maritime exploded for a five-run 8th inning to take a 8-3 lead. The Wildcats clawed back late, scoring one run in the 8th and two runs in the 9th, but it wouldn't be enough to overcome their large deficit. Kurt Johnson, Ethan Walker, and Parker Wing all finished with two hits for the Wildcats, while Aaron Kifer pitched six strong innings, allowing only three runs.

GAME 2:

In the second game of the doubleheader, Jack Collins had a strong start for Union, striking out six Wildcats batters in six innings of work. Union would score in five innings to win the game 8-4. Christopher Martin, Derek Menechino, and Ethan Merone would all record RBI's for the Wildcats.
