BASE: Wildcats Lose Non-Conference Matchup to Golden Eagles.

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's baseball team dropped a non-conference game to SUNY Brockport on Friday 9-1. The Golden Eagles scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to put the otherwise tight game out of reach. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 8-9 on the season, while the Golden Eagles improve to 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Golden Eagles stuck first in the bottom of the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Zach Eldred to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead. Eldred would again strike in the third inning on a single to right field before a Cole Traudt grounder scored Eldred to extend the Golden Eagles lead to 3-0. The Wildcats would answer with a run in the top of the 4th inning on a ground ball from Ryan Pelton that scored Kurt Johnson. The Golden Eagles would capitalize on defensive miscues from the Wildcats in the 8th inning to extend their lead to 9-1, which they would hold onto for the Victory.

For the Wildcats, Aaron Kifer pitched six strong innings to keep the Wildcats in the game.
