WXC: Phetteplace and Kilaparty Honored for Senior Day at 9th Annual Wildcat Classic.

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's cross-country team placed second at the 9th annual Wildcat Classic on Saturday morning. The Wildcats ran well, scoring 60 points as a team. Utica University won the race with a team score of 15. Prior to the race, the Wildcats celebrated the careers of Richuka Kilaparty and Lauren Phetteplace, the Wildcat's two seniors who ran their last race at the Wildcat cross-country course.

 

Utica's Gina Welker won the 6K race in a field of 22 runners. Welker finished with a time of 24:25.1.

 

Lauren Phetteplace led the Wildcats with a 6th-place finish. Ruchika Kilaparty placed 10th. Rosalea Claeys and Lauriana Beras-Burgos placed 13th and 14th respectively. Jenifer Walike rounded out the scoring runners for SUNY Poly with a 17th-place finish.

The Wildcats will hit the road to run at the Cazenovia Invitational on Saturday, October 1st. The race is scheduled for an 11:00 AM start.
