WVB: Wildcats Drop Tri-Match against Delhi and ENC.

DELHI, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team traveled to SUNY Delhi on Sunday for a North Atlantic Conference tri-match. Eastern Nazarene would win the first match 3-0, and SUNY Delhi would win the second match 3-0. The Wildcats have their final match of the season on Wednesday at home against Utica University.

 

GAME 1: Eastern Nazarene would jump out to a hot start in the first set, winning the first eight points of the set. The Wildcats would do their best to close the gap, but the Lions would hold on the win the first set 25-10.

The Wildcats would continue to improve the score over the next two sets, losing the second set 25-15, and the third set 25-16. Grace Southwick led the Wildcats in assists (10), while Samantha Dee led the Wildcats in kills (4).

For the Lions, Annika Schmitt would record 14 assists, and Andrea Aceituno would lead the way with 10 kills.

GAME 2: In the second match, the first set consisted of teams exchanging early points, with the Wildcats having an early lead, before conceding a run to the Broncos which would put them up for good. The Broncos would win the first set 25-16.

The second set would have a very similar timeline, as the Wildcats would keep the set close early, before a Broncos lead would help them cruise to a 25-15 win in the second set.

In the third set, the Wildcats would have their best set of the day, losing 25-19. Brennah Durfee would lead the Wildcats with 6 kills, and Southwick would again lead the Wildcats with 13 assists. Jaiden Venute would lead the Broncos with 26 assists, while Sage Renneisen would record 11 kills.

 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action on Wednesday, November 1st, for a home match against Utica University. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
