WVB: Wildcats Compete In Tri-Match At SUNY Morrisville.

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team competed in a tri-match at SUNY Morrisville on Saturday. The Wildcats played both Morrisville and Cobleskill. The Wildcats lost the first match with Cobleskill 3-0 before losing to Morrisville 3-0.

In the first match, the Fighting Tigers took the first set 25-15. The Wildcats fell behind early and could not gain momentum to close the gap. In the second set, the Wildcats jumped out to an early lead, before the Fighting Tigers went on a seven-point run to give themselves a cushion and come away with the second set 25-15. The third set would be the closest, with teams exchanging leads until the Fighting Tigers pulled away to win the last set 25-20. Grace Southwick led the Wildcats in assists (14), and Ryan Fitzgerald led in kills (7).

In the second match, the Mustangs would jump out to a strong start and win the first set 25-9, highlighted by a ten-point run. The second and third sets would have similar themes, with the Mustangs winning 25-13 in the second set, and 25-16 in the third set.

The Wildcats will be back on Sunday, October 29th for a tri-match at SUNY Delhi. The first match is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM.
