WVB: Wildcats Lose Against SUNY Canton.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The beginning of the first set consisted of back-and-forth play, with the Wildcats leading early 9-8, before SUNY Canton would go on a run and take a 13-9 lead. The Wildcats would try to stop the Kangaroo's momentum, but wouldn't be able to hold on as the Kangaroos would take the first set 25-15.

In the second set, the Wildcats would again jump out to an early 4-1 lead, before the Kangaroos would rattle three points in a row to tie it at 4-4. The teams would continue to exchange points, getting the score to 7-7, before the Kangaroos would win seven straight points to get the score to 14-7. The Wildcats would narrow the gap, but it wouldn't be enough as the Kangaroos would hold on to win the second set 25-19.   

The last set would have a similar cadence to the first two sets, with the teams staying close early in the set before the Kangaroos would go on another run to give themselves a comfortable lead. The Kangaroos would win the last set 25-11.

Emily Dreyer and Alexas Marshall would both record ten kills apiece for the Kangaroos, while Sammie Frank would record 28 assists. For the Wildcats, Grace Southwick would record 12 assists, and Samantha Dee would record six kills.

 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 21st for a Tri-Match hosted by SUNY Morrisville. The Wildcats will play both SUNY Morrisville and SUNY Cobleskill. The first match is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM.
