WVB: Wildcats Earn Three Individual Awards and Three All-Conference Awards.

GANESEVOORT, N.Y. - The NEAC has announced its Individual Achievement Awards and All-Conference selections.  After a phenomenal regular season, the SUNY Poly women's volleyball took home three individual awards and three All-Conference awards.

Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) was named NEAC Player of the Year. An excerpt from the NEAC press release is found below:

"SUNY Polytechnic Institute senior Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y.) was named the NEAC Player of the Year after a phenomenal season for the Wildcats.  Eberley was a three-time NEAC Player of the Week selection and also garnered the program's first-ever American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Player of the Week honor after being the per-set conference leader in both kills (3.69) and points (4.3).  The outside hitter reached double-digit kill totals 19 times this season, including five matches with at least 20 kills, while also recording double-digit points in 22 of the Wildcats' 29 matches en route to also leading the conference in total kills (358) and points (413) in addition to being third in hitting percentage (.291).  Eberley's performance also landed here a spot on the NEAC All-Conference First Team."

Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, W.A. / Lakeside HS) was named NEAC Rookie of the Year. An excerpt from the NEAC press release is found below:

"Eberley was joined by teammate Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, Wash.), who was voted as the NEAC Rookie of the Year after also producing an excellent season for the SUNY Poly Wildcats.  The freshman setter led all rookies and was second overall in the conference in both assists (960) and assists per set (9.80), while also hitting at a .381 clip on 118 total attacks, with that percentage jumping to .556 against NEAC opponents.  Johnson dished out at least 50 assists on four separate occasions, including a season-high 62 helpers in a 3-2 win over Utica back on October 15.  Johnson, who earned a NEAC Player of the Week selection this season, also amassed 243 digs, 52 kills, 40 aces and 15 block assists through 29 Wildcat matches."

And Coach Dan Liberto was named NEAC Coach of the Year. An excerpt from the NEAC press release is found below:

"SUNY Polytechnic Institute head coach Dan Liberto garnered the NEAC Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Wildcats to a fantastic season.  Liberto guided the Wildcats to a 25-4 overall record, including an 11-1 mark in conference play that earned SUNY Poly the NEAC regular season title and the top seed of this weekend's six-team NEAC Championship Tournament.  His squad also led all NEAC schools in per-set averages for kills (12.64), assists (11.92) and points (16.5) in addition to posting a conference-best .229 team hitting percentage."

The Wildcats had three individuals named to NEAC All-Conference Teams. Morgan Eberley and Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place HS) were both voted NEAC First Team All-Conference and and Ryenn Smith (Lyons, N.Y. / Lyons Sr./Jr. HS) was voted NEAC Second Team All-Conference. 

The Wildcats will host the NEAC Championship Tournament beginning on Friday, November 6th. The Wildcats earned a first round bye and will not play until Saturday at 12:00 PM.
