PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's volleyball team traveled to Plattsburgh this past weekend to compete in the Best Western - Ground Round Cardinal Classic. The Wildcats were dominant; winning each of their three matches without dropping a single set.

In the first match the Cats' squared off with Lasell. They won in three sets 25-17, 25-19, 25-19. Emma Larson (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place HS) had a great match. She recorded 12 kills, 6 digs, and 13.5 points. Sydney Johnson (Nine Mile Falls, W.A. / Lakeside HS) recorded a match high 28 assists, 7digs, and 3 service aces.

The second match again went the way of the Wildcats in similar fashion to the first. The Wildcats beat Elms 25-17, 25-10, 25-19 in three sets. Morgan Eberley (Utica, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) led the way for SUNY Poly registering a match high 9 kills, a kill percentage of .421, and 4 digs. Freshman Maureen Krak (Canastota, N.Y. / Canastota HS) had a solid 15 assists for the Wildcats.  She also recorded 4 digs, 1 kill and 2 service aces in the match.

As was the theme of the weekend, the Wildcats again made quick work of their opponent in match three as they defeated host Plattsburgh State in three sets 25-16, 25-18, 25-20. The Wildcats were led again by Morgan Eberley. She recorded a match high 12 kills, 9 digs, and 3 service aces for 15.5 points. Sydney Johnson had a match high 25 assists, and Shelby Kostal (Greenport, N.Y. / Greenport HS) had a match high 5 service aces.

Junior Emma Larson was named to the All-Tournament Team. Senior Morgan Eberley) was also named to the All-Tournament team and collected the Tournament MVP award.

The weekend sweep brings the Wildcats overall record to 4-2 on the year. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, September 15th at Hartwick College. The match will start at 7:00 PM.
