CANTON, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Women's Volleyball Team got off to a good start this weekend, going 2-1 on the road at the SUNY Canton Invitational.
After dropping their first match to the host team, 3-0, the Wildcats rebounded with a pair of sweeps of their own. The first came against Johnson State on Friday night, as SUNYIT dominated, winning each set by double-digit points.
Hanne Saarinen led the Wildcats in kills with 7 as SUNYIT posted a team hitting percentage of .226.
On Saturday, SUNYIT kept things rolling with a sweep of Paul Smith's College.
Leading the way in Saturday's match was Kaitlyn Harrington, who pounded out 14 kills while adding 6 digs.
The Wildcats will head to Wells College next weekend for a tournament. First match is scheduled for noon as the Wildcats will take on Utica College.
