WLAX: Wildcats Earn Big Win at Home Over Sage College.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team earned a convincing win at home over Sage College 21-5.  the Wildcats got out to a big lead right off the Jump taking a commanding 13 goal lead in the first half. the win was the Wildcats fifth of the season bringing their season record to 5-3.

 

NOTABLES:

  • Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) kept up her outrageous scoring streak. She added 11 points to her season total with six goals and five assists in the game. She also had 10 ground balls, six draw controls, and six caused turnovers. Prosinski is currently averaging 9.25 points per game which ranks second in the NCAA DIII. She is also leading the NEAC in points with 74, assists with 22, and goals with 52.

  • Emily Somes (Elbridge, N.Y.) had a big game for the Wildcats. She had nine points on three goals and six assists. Somes also had four ground balls, four draw controls, and a caused turnover.

  • Samantha Dayter (Cohoes, N.Y.) scored five points for the sixth consecutive game. She recorded five goals, 10 ground balls, and a game-high eight draw controls.

  • Alycia Lugo (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) earned her fifth win in goal for the Wildcats. She only needed to make two saves to earn the victory.

  • Jenny Maxam (Clinton, N.Y.) had three points on two goals and an assist. She also had two ground balls in the game.

  • Kaley Pichura (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored twice for the Wildcats. The sophomore also had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

  • Brittany Gage had a team-high two points on a goal and an assist for Sage College. She also had four ground balls.

  • Kerry McKeown, Sophia Keravich, Anne Risler, and Sophia Pierce all scored a goal for the Gators in the game.

  • Alexandra Lettre had a game-high seven caused turnovers for Sage.

  • Marina Azab was the losing goalkeeper. She made 13 saves and faced 27 shots.

 

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will hit the road to take on North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Medaille College on Saturday, April 6th. The Mavericks are currently 5-4 this season with a 1-1 record in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The Mavericks have lost four of their last five games. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
