MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team earned a blowout win on Sunday over North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Penn State Abington. The Wildcats got out to a red hot start scoring 14 goals in the first half to take a commanding 10 goal lead. The team did not take their foot off the accelerator in the second half scoring another seven goals. The final score of the game was 21 - 7 in favor of the Wildcats. SUNY Poly had three players score five or more points in the game and had four players score three or more goals.The Wildcats are now 4-3 overall with a 3-0 record in NEAC play.

NOTABLES:

• Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) had another huge day for the Wildcats. She recorded her third consecutive 10-point game, this time with seven goals and three assists. Kayla is currently leading the NEAC in goals, assists, and points. So far this season she has 46 goals, 17 assists, and 63 points. Her points total is nearly 20 higher than the second best in the NEAC.Prosinski was also active on defense recording two caused turnovers and scooping up five ground balls.

• Emily Somes (Elbridge, N.Y.) also had a big day for the Wildcats. She scored eight points on six goals and two assists. Somes had a career-high 10 ground balls, had five draw controls, and two caused turnovers in the win.

• Samantha Dayter (Cohoes, N.Y.) scored three goals and dished out two assists for the Wildcats. She had a game-high 11 ground balls and a game-high seven draw controls. The performance was Dayters fourth consecutive game with five or more points. She also caused a game high five cause turnovers.

• Jennifer Maxam (Clinton, N.Y.) had four points for the Wildcats on three goals and an assist. She had two caused turnovers, a draw control, and two ground balls.

• Alycia Lugo (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) was the winning goalie for the Wildcats. She made four saves on 11 shots faced, improving her season record to 4-3.

• Alynn Phelan scored  a team-high 4 goals for Abington. she also had  6 ground balls

• Jillian Stokes and Lillian Diesh led Abington with eight ground balls each. Stokes also had four draw controls and a goal. Diesh had two points on a goal and an assist, had three draw controls, and forced a turnover.

• Cheyenne Grumm was the losing goalkeeper for Abington. She made 12 saves and faced 33 shots.

The Wildcats will host the Sage College Gators on Wednesday April 3rd at home. The game between the Wildcats and Gators is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start. The Wildcats are 3 - 1 all-time against the Gators.
