WLAX: Wildcats Win Big at Home Over Lancaster Bible.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Wildcat women's lacrosse team took down Lancaster Bible College on Saturday in a 22-8 game. The Wildcats got out to an early 8-3 lead in the first half and added to it in the second by scoring 12 goals. Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.)  had a huge day for the Wildcats. The junior led the 'Cats in goals scored, draw controls, ground balls, and caused turnovers .The win brings the Wildcats season record to 3-3 with a 2-2 record in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play.

NOTABLES:

  • Kayla Prosinski led the way for the Wildcats scoring nine goals and dishing out three assists for a total of 12 points; a game-high. Prosinski took 16 shots in the game landing 12 of them on goal. She also led the Wildcats with a game-high nine draw controls and a game-high 13 ground balls. Prosinski also forced four caused turnovers in the game.

  • Samantha Dayter (Cohoes, N.Y.) also had a big game for the Wildcats. She had three goals and two assists for a total of five points. She also picked up five ground balls and had a caused turnover.

  • Emily Somes (Elbridge, N.Y.) scored five goals for the Wildcats and dished out three assists. She had six ground balls, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers

  • Jennifer Maxam (Clinton, N.Y.)  also had a solid game for the Wildcats. The senior scored three points on two assists and a goal.

  • Alycia Lugo (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) was the winning goaltender for the Wildcats. She made five saves in 60 minutes played to earn her third win of the season.

  • For Lancaster Bible, Hannah Thompson led the way with five points on four goals and an assist. Thompson also had six draw controls and eight ground balls, both of which were a team-high

  • Raegan Horst scored two goals and  forced four caused turnovers for the Chargers.

  • Nicolette Statuti was on the losing side of the decision. She made 6 saves her record is now  1-8

The Wildcats will host NEAC foe Penn State Abington on Sunday, March 31st. The Wildcats will be looking to improve on their perfect NEAC record against the Nittany Lions. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field.
