HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team earned their second win of the season on Wednesday over Houghton College. The Wildcats scored a season high 22 goals in the game to earn the 22-14 win. The Wildcats took the lead first on a goal in the fourth minute of the game and never looked back. In the win, Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) broke the record for most points in a single game with 13.

RECORD BREAKING PERFORMANCE:

SUNY Poly's Kayla Prosinski had a record breaking performance in the win. The junior broke the single game record for most points with 13. Prosinski scored seven goals and had a game high six assists. She broke the record previously held by both Krysta Beha who scored 12 points twice in her career and Mari Ames who scored 12 points once.  The record has stood since 2015.

NOTABLES:

• Kayla Prosinski added a game high nine ground balls and eight draw controls to her record breaking performance. She leads the Wildcats this season in both categories. Prosinski also added a game high five caused turnovers to her stat line.
• Samantha Dayter (Cohoes, N.Y.) continued her high scoring ways with a game high eight goals and an assist. She has scored 13 of her 17 goals this season in the last two games. Dayter also had a game high 11 draw controls and four caused turnovers.
• Emily Somes (Elbridge, N.Y.) scored five goals for the Wildcats to bring her season total to 20.
• Jennifer Maxam (Clinton, N.Y.) had six points in the win. The senior scored two goals and dished out four assists.
• Alycia Lugo (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for the Wildcats. She made 10 saves on 24 shots faced. She is now 2-3 this season.
• Meagan Barry had a team high six goals for Houghton. She also had three draw controls and four ground balls.
• Cori Beck had a team high five draw controls and a team high six groundballs. She also scored four points on two goals and two assists.
• Sarah Olandt was on the losing end of the goalie decision. She made nine saves. The loss brings her season record to 1-6.

The Wildcats will host Lancaster Bible on Saturday, March 30^th at 12:00 PM. The home NEAC game will be the Wildcats first home conference game for the season. The Wildcats are 6-1 all –time against Lancaster Bible.
