MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's lacrosse team braved the elements on Friday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game against Wells College. Game time conditions were sub-par to say the very least. High winds, heavy rain, and sub 25-degree weather effected every play on the field. The Wildcats made the best of the conditions, keeping their high-powered offense in gear to score 14 goals winning their first conference battle 14-7 over the Express.

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y.) had a great game for the Wildcats. The senior had a game high 10 points on six goals and four assists. Beha was also strong off the draw, securing a game high 10 draw controls and tying a game high with five groundballs. Beha also had three caused turnovers in the game.

Freshman Kayla Prosinski (Endwell, N.Y.) had four goals and an assist in the win. Prosinski tied Beha with a game high five groundballs, had three caused turnovers, and five draw controls.

Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y.), Alexandria Dodge (Marcy, N.Y.), and Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats. Ames had three points for the Cats' on two goals and an assist. Dodge had two points on a goal and an assist. Marconi had a goal, three caused turnovers, and a groundball.

Brittany Waterbury (Remsen, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for the Wildcats. She made five saves in the game, playing all 60 minutes.

For Wells, Mackenzie Maloney had a team high four points on three goals and an assist. Maloney also had three groundballs, a caused turnover, and a draw control. Renee Bartosz had two goals, an assist, and two groundballs in the game. Anna Bozeat made five saves on 19 shots, earning the loss for Wells.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-0 on the year and 1-0 in the NEAC. The Express fall to 1-3 (0-1 NEAC) The Wildcats will be back in action on Sunday, March 2nd at 1:00 PM when they travel to Keuka College for a NEAC conference game.
