WLAX: Wildcats Top Lions to Remain Undefeated in Conference

ABINGTON, P.A. - The SUNY Poly Women's Lacrosse Team (7-1, 4-0 NEAC) picked up their second win in as many days on Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats outscored Bryn Athyn (2-4, 1-2 NEAC) 16-3 to remain perfect in NEAC play.

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro) led the Wildcat offense with a game-high nine points. The junior accounted for four goals and five assists.

SUNY Poly wasted no time getting started, scoring four goals in the first four minutes. Three different scorers recorded goals in that span, with Beha tallying two. The visitors would go on to score three more goals throughout the rest of the half to go into the break with a 7-1 lead. 

Mari Ames (West Carthage, N.Y. / Carthage HS) opened the scoring in the second half before the Lions strung together two goals to cut the lead to 8-3. Bryn Athyn wouldn't score again however as the Wildcats scored eight goals over the final 22 minutes. 

Ames finished with four goals and two assists for a total of six points. Meghan Serota (Black River, N.Y. / Carthage HS) and Corrina Marconi (Rochester, N.Y. / Gates-Chili HS) each finished with three points apiece, Serota's all coming on goals. Nicole DiPiazza (Colonie, N.Y. / Colonie HS), Hope Cerasuolo (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown HS), and Alexandria Dodge (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro HS) each added a goal to round out the scoring for SUNY Poly.

Serota added a game-high five ground balls while Cerasulo had a game-high seven draw controls.

The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, April 16th at 3:00 against Keuka.
