Beha and McGlynn Sweep Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Wildcat Women's Lacrosse players Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y. / Whitesboro) and Tierney McGlynn (Watervliet, N.Y. / Watervliet) swept the weekly NEAC honors on Monday. Beha was named Offensive Player of the Week while McGlynn took the Defensive Player of the Week. Below are excerpts from the NEAC press release:

Krysta Beha (Marcy, N.Y.) has been selected as the NEAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after an outstanding performance for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats.  The sophomore began her season with bang, as she posted nine points on seven goals and two assists to lead the Wildcats to a 20-2 victory over Sage Tuesday.  She also tallied 11 draw controls and 10 groundballs in the win, which were both game highs, in addition to causing four Sage turnovers on the day.

Tierney McGlynn (Watervliet, N.Y.) has been chosen as the NEAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after a stout performance for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats.   The junior defender helped lead the Wildcats to a dominant win over Sage in their season opener Tuesday, as she caused four turnovers and racked up five groundballs while anchoring a defense that only gave up a pair of goals in the 20-2 victory.  McGlynn also added some offense after scoring a goal on her lone shot of the day, while also collecting two draw controls.
