WBB: Wildcats Beaten by Mustangs at Home 53-33.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's basketball dropped a conference game to SUNY Morrisville on Tuesday night 53-33. Alysa Jackson led the Wildcats with 10 points and 3 assists. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 5-13 on the season and 4-4 in North Atlantic Conference play.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: A slow shooting night hindered the Wildcats, who only would score 8 points in the first half of Tuesday's game. The Mustangs had a strong first quarter, scoring 14 points, and adding in 9 second-quarter points to take a 23-8 lead into halftime.

The Wildcats' shooting would improve in the second half, scoring 16 points in the third quarter with 6 points coming from Alivia Turk. Hannah Bonczkowski would add in 8 third-quarter points for the Mustangs. She would lead all scorers on the night with 14 points.

Despite the strong second-half effort, the Wildcats would be unable to cut further into the Mustangs lead, and they would come away with the 53-33 victory to improve to 7-13 on the season and 5-4 in North Atlantic Conference play.

 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action on Sunday, January 28th as they host SUNY Canton for a noon game.
