WBB: Wildcats Beaten By Red Dragons.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's basketball lost to Cortland State on Saturday afternoon 88-31. The high-scoring Red Dragons were led by Logan Streety who had the game-high 19 points. The Wildcats were led by Alivia Turk, who score 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Turk leads the Wildcats with an average of 12.5ppg. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 1-8 on the season.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: A strong first half on Saturday proved the be the difference on Saturday afternoon as the Red Dragons scored 23 points in the first quarter to give themselves a 10-point lead. Logan Streety would score 10 first-half points to go along with 7 rebounds. She would finish the game with a double-double. Alivia Turk and Alysa Jackson would have strong first halves for the Wildcats, with Turk scoring 6 points while Jackson added in 5 points.

The Wildcats' shooting woes would continue in the second half and would be unable to cut into the Red Dragon lead. Brianna Cinque would score 16 second-half points for the Red Dragons. Turk and Jackson would continue to lead the Wildcats' offense in the second half, with Turk adding in 10 more points, while Jackson added in 2 points.
