WBB: Wildcats Drop Non-Conference Matchup to Mammoths.

AMHERST, Ma. - The SUNY Poly women's basketball team traveled to Amherst College on Friday to face the Mammoths in a non-conference matchup. The Mammoth's offense would be too much for the Wildcats, and the Mammoths would walk away with the 61-16 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Mammoths would jump out to a strong start in the first quarter, which they would continue for the rest of the game. The Mammoths would shoot nearly 43% from the field and spread out the scoring with the usage of a deep bench. The Wildcats offense was unable to find a consistent rhythm on Friday after securing their first win of the season against Vermont State Johnson.

The Mammoths would have 12 players score a basket, led by Brielle Renwick who led the team with 10 points. For the Wildcats, Sophia Murray would lead the way with 7 points, while also grabbing 4 rebounds. The Wildcats will be back at home next weekend as the host SUNY Cortland and SUNY Oswego at the Kevin Grimmer Court at the Campus Center gym.

UP NEXT:

The Wildcats will be back at home on Saturday, January 16th for a game against SUNY Cortland. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 PM.
