WBB: Wildcats Beaten By Kangaroos.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly women's basketball was defeated by SUNY Canton on Friday night 87-52. A slow start to the game hurt the Wildcats, who were able to overcome the early deficit. With the loss, the Wildcats move to 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in North Atlantic Conference play.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Kangaroos got off to a hot start shooting, scoring 27 points in the first quarter, which was the most of the game. Sierra Pabo and Hope Anecito would have strong games for the Kangaroos, with Pabo finishing with 26 points, and Anecito finishing with 20 points.

The Wildcats would string together more competitive second, third, and fourth quarters, but would be unable to dig themselves out of the first-quarter deficit. Alivia Turk and Sophia Murray had strong performances, with Turk scoring 20 points and grabbing 9 rebounds, while Murray chipped in 10 points and had 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action against NVU-Johnson on Saturday, December 2nd. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 PM.
