ITHACA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball season came to an end on Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Division III National Championship. The Wildcats lost to regional host Ithaca College 58-68. The Wildcats had a fantastic 2018-19 season, finishing 23-6 with a 15-1 NEAC record. The Wildcats won their third NEAC Championship in four years and two Wildcats reached the 1,000 career point milestone.
KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team has won the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship! The Wildcats played #3 Gallaudet for the Championship on Sunday, earning a 68-60 win. The Championship win gives them three in the last four seasons. The game itself was tightly contested, with the Wildcats earning the edge thanks to some great three point shooting and early offense.

The Wildcats got off to a hot start getting a 10-point advantage in the first quarter and never looked back. They would go on to win big 73-45.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team will host the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) North Division quarterfinal game on Tuesday, February 19th. The #2 seed Wildcats will host NEAC rival and #3 seed Morrisville State at 6:00 PM at SUNY Poly’s Campus Center Gym. The game will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. AURORA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team took down Wells College on Saturday in blowout fashion, 92-48. The Wildcats shot 57% from the field, and knocked down 12 three pointers in the game. Five players scored in the double digits, leading to the Wildcats largest offensive showing of the season.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team extended their winning streak to 11 games on Wednesday in a 75-41 win over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Cobleskill. The Wildcats had the advantage from the jump, playing great team defense and shooting at a 47% clip from the field. The Wildcats never gave up the lead, growing their it to a season high 43 points with 6:22 remaining in the game.

The win gives SUNY Poly 18 on the year and has them atop the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) north division. The Wildcats battled back from multiple first half deficits in the game finishing strong in the second half to ultimately win 75-67.

The Wildcats shot an outstanding 52.1% from the field in the win and shot a perfect 10-10 in the fourth quarter, which included five three pointers. The win still has the Wildcats tied with Keuka atop the NEAC North Division at 7-1 as the Wolves defeated Gallaudet this afternoon.

The game came down to the final seconds with SUNY Poly ultimately earning a 65-64 win on their home court to tie up the season series, keeping their hopes of hosting the NEAC Championship alive. The Wildcats held the advantage from the jump, holding the lead for the majority of the game. The win is the Wildcats 13th of the season, and their eighth in NEAC play.
CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team improved to 7-1 in NEAC conference play on Friday with a seven point win over Cazenovia. The game was tight through the first two quarters, with SUNY Poly trailing by three. The Wildcats would turn up the heat in the third and fourth quarter, outscoring Cazenovia down the stretch to earn the win 68-61. Five Wildcats scored in the double digits in the game.

The games will now be played on Friday, January 18th. The women will play at 5:00 PM and the men will play at 7:00 PM. The games will still be played at Cazenovia College. MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team improved to 11-5 this season with a win over Wells College on Wednesday night. The ‘Cats had the edge right from the start, jumping out to an early double digit lead in the first quarter. SUNY Poly would hold the lead for the duration, growing it to 27 points at its highest point. SUNY Poly is now 4-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) divisional play with a 6-1 overall conference record.

ALFRED, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball earned their first win of 2019 on Monday in a 76-56 road win over Alfred State. The Wildcats took the lead in the second quarter and never looked back. Molly Burdick (Vestal, N.Y.) and Kiersten Leos (Camden, N.Y.) led the way for Poly, scoring 17 points each in the game.
HUNTINGDON, PA. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team wrapped up their fall semester schedule with a pair of games at the Juniata College Holiday Classic Tournament. The Wildcats faced host Juniata on Friday, defeating them 66-55 in the first game of the tournament. On Saturday, the Wildcats faced St. Vincent, losing 65-90. Molly Burdick (Vestal, N.Y.) and Kiersten Leos (Camden, N.Y.) were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Wildcats won the game at the free throw line, knocking down a season high 24 from the charity stripe and shooting over 70% from the line. The Wildcats were also very efficient from the floor, shooting 51% from the field and 44% from three point land.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker in overtime on Saturday 64-63 to SUNY Cortland. The game was tight for the entire 45 minutes of play, coming down to a last second layup by Cortland which sealed up the win. The Wildcats are now 5-3 this season, the Red Dragons improve to 4-5.
COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team traveled to Cobleskill on Tuesday night to play their third North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game of the season. The Wildcats kept their undefeated NEAC record, improving to 3-0 with a 82-56 win over the Fighting Tigers.

The Wildcats outscored the Mustangs in every quarter with the largest margin being in the fourth (21-15)
PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women’s basketball team lost in the Championship game of the St. John Fisher Tip-off Tournament on Saturday. The game was close in the first quarter, but the Host Cardinals of St. John Fisher built a solid lead in the second and third quarters to earn the 75-63 win.

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Athletics Department has released the 2018 schedule for the Wildcat women’s basketball team. The Wildcats schedule features 25 regular season games this season; 10 home games and 15 games on the road. SUNY Poly will open play on Friday, November 16th against Anna Maria in the St. John Fisher Tip-off Tournament. The Wildcats will play their first home game against local rival Hamilton College on Saturday, November 24th at 2:00 PM.
