WBB: Wildcats Draw Eastern Connecticut in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.

MARCY, N.Y. - The field for the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship is set! The SUNY Poly Wildcats have been slotted to play Eastern Connecticut State in the first round at the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania.  

The NEAC Champion Wildcats (25-2) will take on the Warriors of Eastern Connecticut State (20-8) on Friday March 3rd in Scranton Pennsylvania.

The Wildcats come into the game shooting 42 percent as a team and scoring 78 points per game, 11th best in Division III. The Wildcats allow just 59 points per game. The Warriors enter the game shooting 39 percent and scoring 65 points a game.  

Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Khristaijah Jackson (Levittown, Pa.) will be the duo to watch in the game for the Wildcats. The pair average just over 43 per game. Stevie Ray is the second highest scorer in Division III Women's Basketball and is number one in the nation with 4.75 three pointers per game. Jackson nearly averages a double-double with 18.4 points per game and 9.4 rebounds. Jackson has scored 10 or more points in 26 of 27 games this season for the Wildcats.

For Eastern Connecticut, Jordan Nappi and Kelsey Santagata are the leading scorers. Nappi, a guard, averages 14.9 points per game and 1.85 assists. Santagata, a 5'10" forward  averages 10.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

This is the Wildcats second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. This year the Wildcats will look to improve on their first round exit last season. Game time updates will become available throughout the week.
