WBB: Wildcats Comeback From 11-point Deficit in the Fourth to Beat Cortland 68-64.

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Wildcats remained undefeated after a big win over Cortland on Saturday 68-64. The Wildcats mounted an 11-point comeback in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y.) had a great all-around game for the Wildcats. The senior scored a game high 30 points on 11-30 shooting. Ray hit two big three pointers down the stretch. The first gave the Wildcats a one-point lead with 2:10 remaining and the second extended the Wildcats lead to six with just 30 seconds remaining. Stevie also had seven rebounds, a game high six assists, and a game high six steals. Ray is averaging an outstanding 25.3 points per game this season which is good for 5th best in Division 3. 

Khristajiah Jackson (Levittown, Pa.) and Kiersten Leos (Camden, N.Y.) combined for 24 Wildcat points. Jackson had 13 points, a game high 12 rebounds, two steals, and two bocks. Jackson now has three double-doubles this season. Leos scored 11 points for the Wildcats. She hit three 3-pointers in the game and had seven rebounds.

The Red Dragons were led by Cassidy Chapko who had 20 points, five rebounds and three assists. Kristy Vitucci had 16 points and a team high five assists. Stephanie Rice scored 11 and shot 50 percent from the field.

The Wildcats are now 8-0 this season. The team will now break for the holidays, still undefeated. The Wildcats will return to action on the 29th when they will travel to Lehman College to take on the Lightning. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
