WBB: Jackson's Double-Double Leads Wildcats to a Big Win Over Cazenovia.

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly women's basketball team improved to a perfect 6-0 last night with a big win over Cazenovia 86-58. The Wildcats shot nearly 50 percent from the field and a solid 43 percent from three-point land.

The Wildcats battled with Cazenovia in the first quarter. The lead changed three times in the first 10 minutes with SUNY Poly leading by two at the close of the first. The Wildcats lead grew from that point to a high point of 36 in the fourth quarter.

Khristaijah Jackson (Levittown, Pa.) had a double-double in the game with a team high 23 points and a game high 10 rebounds for the Wildcats. The junior shot 77 percent from the field, going 10-13. Jackson also had two steals, an assist, and a block in the game.

Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored a cool 21 points in the game. She shot 44 percent from the field and went 5-10 from beyond the arc in just 24 minutes played. Ray had two rebounds, two assists, and a steal in the game.

Taylor Aybar (Woodside, N.Y.) and Kiersten Leos (Camden, N.Y.) rounded out the double digit scorers with 13 and 10 points respectively. Aybar played a career high 35 minutes and had four assists, a team high three steals, two blocks, and three rebounds. Leos shot 3-6 from three-point land and had four assists, a steal, and a rebound in 11 minutes.

For Cazenovia Skylar Girard had a fantastic game. She scored a game high 26 points, had a game high six steals, had five rebounds, and two assists.

The Wildcats are now 6-0 and are 4-0 in NEAC play. The team's next game will take place on Saturday the 10th of December against SUNY Canton. The game will tip-off at 2:00 PM at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym.
