WBB: Stevie Ray Named NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week After an Impressive Three Game Stretch.

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – SUNY Poly's Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y.) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of November 28th to December 4th after a phenomenal three game stretch for the Wildcats.

An excerpt from the NEAC's press release announcing the Student Athletes of the Week can be seen below.

"Ray, a senior guard for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats, continued her impressive scoring streak through three NEAC wins to open conference play last week.  Ray opened the week with a conference-season-high 43 points on 52 percent shooting, which included a perfect 16-for-16 mark from the free throw line, to also go with a game-high six steals in an 82-68 victory over SUNY Cobleskill last Wednesday.  That point total was the highest recorded by a player across all of Division III at that time, while also vaulting her into second in the nation in points per game.  She remained hot through the weekend, scoring a team-best 21 points while adding game highs of 14 rebounds and five assists in a 70-50 win over Wells Saturday.  Ray closed the week with 13 points and five boards in just 29 minutes of play as the Wildcats posted a 69-40 victory over Keuka Sunday, leaving her with averages of 25.7 points, 7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game while hitting all 20 free throws she attempted on the week.  Ray is currently leading the conference in scoring at 25 points per game while also being tops in both 3-pointers made (20) and free throw percentage (93.5) for the Wildcats, who are now a perfect 5-0 overall.
