WBB: Stevie Ray Named NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week After Her 34 Point Performance Against Utica.

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – SUNY Poly's Stevie Ray has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of November 14th-20th after posting great numbers in the Wildcats season opener against local rival Utica College.

An excerpt from the NEAC's press release announcing the Student Athletes of the Week can be seen below.

"Stevie Ray (Syracuse, N.Y.) has been named the NEAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after a sensational season-opening performance for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats.  Ray, last year's NEAC Tournament MVP for the defending-champion Wildcats, picked up right where she left off a season go.  The senior guard exploded for a game-high 34 points in 33 minutes of play to lead the Wildcats to a 79-69 victory over local nonconference rival Utica College to open the season Sunday.  Ray shot 52 percent from the floor after connecting on 11-of-21 field goal attempts, which included hitting seven shots from the 3-point line in addition to going 5-for-6 from the charity stripe. Ray also swiped two steals in the win."
