SB: Wildcats Trip to Hamilton Ends With Two Losses.

CLINTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly women's softball team traveled to nearby Clinton to take on rival Hamilton College in a double header at the Continentals new Loop Road Complex. The Wildcats stumbled in the games, losing both games in five innings by the eight run mercy rule. The score of the first game was 12-4. The second game 8-0. 

GAME 1

In the first game, the Wildcats scored four runs on two hits. Taylor Hines (Mechanicville, N.Y.) had two RBIs in the game, going 1-3 with a single. Elizabeth Riegler (Boonville, N.Y.) had the Wildcats only other hit in the game, a single in the fifth inning. Celine Laracuente (Utica, N.Y.) was the pitcher of record for the Wildcats. She allowed six earned runs on 12 hits and a walk in three innings of work.

Ursula Castiblanco earned the win on the mound for Hamilton. She allowed four earned runs in five innings, striking out seven. Kendall Searcy went 3-3 with two doubles and four RBIs. Caitlyn Berreiter, Daphnie Assimakopoulous, Ursula Castiblanco, and Delaney Nicol each had two hits in the game and each had an RBI.

GAME 2

The second game of the double header was not much better for the Wildcats. The team managed just three hits in the game. Taylor Hines, Hayley Breeyear (Fort Edward, N.Y.), and Danielle Witchley (New Hartford, N.Y.) each had a hit in the game. Witchley's double in the top of the second was the Wildcats lone extra base hit of the game. Elizabeth Riegler pitched in the game for the Wildcats. She threw 4.2 innings allowing eight five earned runs on nine hits and six walks.

For Hamilton, Desmen DePaulis earned the win on the mound. She allowed three hits in five innings and had a strikeout. Ashley Yzaguirre had the only multiple hit performance in the game. Five Continentals had an RBI in the game.

With the two losses, the Wildcats record stands at 5-5, while Hamilton improves to 7-10. SUNY Poly will be back in action this upcoming weekend when they are scheduled to host a pair of NEAC double-headers against Cazenovia on Saturday and Morrisville on Sunday. Saturday's double-header is scheduled for a 1:00 PM first pitch. Sunday's games are scheduled for noon
