SB: Wildcats Complete Four Game Sweep of Cobleskill in Back-to-back Double Headers.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly Softball team completed a four game sweep of Cobleskill this weekend. All four games ended in the fifth inning with the Wildcats winning via mercy rule. The game scores were 9-1, 10-2 on Saturday and 13-1, 12-0 on Sunday. The Wildcats pitching staff held the Tigers to just four runs in four games.

Fallon Reinold (Holland Patent, N.Y.) took the mound for the Wildcats in game one. She threw a complete game gem allowing just three hits and striking out eight batters. She also went 3-3 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored. Erika Charbonneau (Boonville, N.Y.) went 2-3 in the game, had an RBI, and scored two runs. Danielle Witchley (New Hartford, N.Y.) drove in two runs while going 1-3 and scoring a run. The final score of the game was 9-1 Wildcats.

Game two was another well pitched game, this time by Hanah Wasco (Rome, N.Y.). Wasco threw a complete game allowed six hits and struck out six batters. Fallon Reinold went 3-3 again in game two, but this time she hit a solo homerun, had two RBIs, and scored three runs. Erika Charbonneau added another two hits including an RBI double over the left fielders head in the fifth inning. She ended up going 2-2 with three RBIs and a run scored. The Wildcats won the game 10-2.

Game three of the Wildcats four games with Cobleskill was another show of dominance by Fallon Reinold. Reinold threw another complete game allowing just two hits and a run. She struck out six batters on the mound and went 2-4 with three runs scored at the plate. Danielle Witchley and Erika Charbonneau provided the runs in the game. They combined to drive in seven runs in the game from the cleanup and five spot in the lineup. Witchley went 3-4 with two doubles, four RBIs, and three runs scored. Charbonneau also went 3-4 and had three RBIs and a run scored. Elizabeth Riegler (Boonville, N.Y.) and Taylor Hines (Mechanicsville, N.Y.) each drove in a pair of runs. Riegler went 1-2 with a homerun, a walk, and two RBIs. Hines went 1-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored. The Wildcats won 13-1.    

In game four Hannah Wasco threw a no hitter! Wasco threw five innings of no-hit softball striking out three batters along the way. She also hit a double in the game, driving in a run. Fallon Reinold went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Leah Segerlin (Webster, N.Y.) and Taylor Hines each went 2-4 with 2 RBIs. Segerlin also added two runs scored. Abigail Coyne (Niskayuna, N.Y.) went 1-3 with a two RBI double in the second inning. The Wildcats completed the four game sweep with the 12-0 win.

The Wildcats are now 13-13 on the year and 9-3 in the NEAC, which is good for second in the North Division behind Keuka (13-3). The Wildcats next game is against Penn College on Thursday at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field. The double header is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
