Jessica Patterelli Named NEAC Softball Player of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Jessica Patterelli (Canastota, N.Y. / Canastota) has been chosen as the NEAC Softball Player of the Week after an incredible week both at the plate and in the pitcher's circle for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats.  The junior led the Wildcats to a 4-0 week in conference action, batting .833 (10-for-12) with three homeruns, a double, a triple, 12 RBIs, eight runs scored and three walks for an on-base percentage of .812 and a slugging percentage of 1.833 at the plate, while going 2-0 with two complete games in the pitcher's circle.  Patterelli had a homer in three straight games and drove in at least two runs in all four contests on the week, starting with two homeruns and five RBIs in a doubleheader sweep over Cazenovia College Friday, where she also tossed a complete-game five hitter with four strikeouts in a 5-2 game-one win.  She closed the week going 5-for-6 with a triple, a homerun and seven RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Morrisville State College Saturday, while striking out another four batters in a complete-game pitching win in SUNYIT's 18-5 victory in game one. Patterelli is currently tied for the conference lead in runs batted in with 30 while being second in homeruns with four for the Wildcats, who improved to 8-2 in the NEAC North Division.
