COBLESKILL, N.Y.- The SUNYIT Softball team (3-11, 1-1) took the road Wednesday for a NEAC showdown with rival SUNY Cobleskill (2-4, 2-2 NEAC). The Wildcats fell in game one 4-1 but were able to bounce back in a big way as their bats came alive in a 13-7 win game two win.

The Wildcats were held to just three hits in game one as Cobleskill pitcher Erin Wadsworth went the distance allowing just one unearned run. The Wildcats pushed across a first inning run on a Tigers throwing error but were unable to get on the board from there as they dropped game one 4-1.

Game two was a completely different story as the Wildcats offense exploded for 13 runs on 16 hits. All 9 Wildcat starters tallied a hit in the contest which also featured four different Wildcats recording home runs. Fallon Reinold (Holland Patent, N.Y./ Holland Patent), Danielle Witchley (New Hartford, N.Y./ New Hartford), Erika Charbonne (Boonville, N.Y./ Adirondack), and Corinna Laracuente (Utica, N.Y./ Proctor) all went deep as the Wildcats overpowered the Tigers 16-7. The four home runs ties a school record for most in a game which was last reached in a 16-0 victory over Cazenovia in 2012.

Fallon Reinold got the win on the mound pitching 5 innings for the Wildcats allowing 11 hits and 6 earned runs as Jessica Patterelli (Canastota, N.Y./ Canastota) closed the door in the final two innings not allowing any Tigers to reach base.

The Wildcats are back home Friday as they host the Wells College Express in a NEAC double header. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm on the Wildcat Softball Field.
