Jessica Patterelli Takes Home NEAC Softball Player of the Week in First Games as a Wildcat

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Jessica Patterelli (Canastota, N.Y. / Canastota) has been chosen as the NEAC Softball Player of the Week after an excellent all-around week for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats.  The junior pitcher performed well both at the plate and on the mound for the Wildcats during their eight-game spring break trip last week, as she batted 10-for-24 for a .400 average while collecting eight RBIs, five runs scored, four doubles and two triples to slug .750. She had at least one hit in all but one contest and drove in two runs three different times, including two on a triple in an 8-3 win over Delaware Valley last Monday and another pair on a double in an 8-7 win over Gordon Tuesday.  She also got the pitching win over Delaware Valley, as she allowed just one run on three hits while striking out six batters in five innings of work. She finished the trip with two complete-game outings, 23 strikeouts and a solid 3.61 ERA through 31 innings in the pitcher's circle.
