Conference Makeup Dates Announced for Softball, Numerous Changes Made to Upcoming Schedule

UTICA, NY – With multiple conference contests needing to be made up as the regular season comes to a close, the SUNYIT softball team has had to make numerous changes to its upcoming schedule.

Needing to make up a road match against Cazenovia College that has been postponed three times this season, SUNYIT has canceled its home match against The Sage Colleges this Saturday and will instead travel to take on Cazenovia for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.  Additionally, the postponed doubleheader against Morrisville State from this past Saturday has been rescheduled for Monday, April 25, although the playing field and start time have yet to be determined.  Moving the contest to that date means the Lady Wildcats have canceled their originally scheduled road match against Hamilton College and will not reschedule the contest.

The Wildcats will also be in action this Friday when they host Keuka College for doubleheader in a makeup of their originally scheduled contest that was set for April 3.  The game will be held at Herkimer County Community College's Generals Field, which, along with Utica College's Greenman Field, has been the site of all SUNYIT home games this season due to the on-campus construction of the $20 million field house and improvements to the Wildcat Softball Field.

The Wildcats are coming off a sweep of Cazenovia College during a doubleheader yesterday that helped them improve to 12-2 in the NEAC North Division and 16-7 overall.  They will be back in action today when they travel to take on SUNY Canton in a non-conference doubleheader.  Game one is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm.
