UTICA, NY – SUNYIT junior Juleah Vedder (Dolgeville, NY/Dolgeville) has been selected for two player of the week awards, taking home the North Eastern Athletic Conference Softball Student-Athlete of the Week honor and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Upstate Player of the Week award for the period ending April 3.

Vedder had an outstanding week both at the plate and on the mound for the Lady Wildcats to guide them to a perfect 4-0 record during that period, all of which being conference victories.  Vedder went 6-for-12 at the plate, with five of those being extra-base hits that included three doubles, a triple and a home run.  That helped her drive in 11 runs on the week and score six runs of her own.  She was also dominant on the mound, pitching two complete games and striking out a total of 14 batters while giving up no earned runs and holding her opponents to a .190 batting average. 

Vedder, who is the program's all-time leader in career home runs, RBI and slugging percentage, currently leads the team in hits (17), RBI (20), slugging percentage (.800), innings pitched (29.2) and strikeouts (28). 

The Wildcats are 4-0 in the NEAC North Division and 8-3 overall.  They will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to take on conference rival SUNY Cobleskill for a doubleheader.  Game one is scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm.
