CC: Wildcats Compete in Johnson State Invitational. Men Place Third, Women Place Sixth.

JOHNSON, V.T. - The SUNY Poly men's and women's cross country team traveled north to compete in the Johnson St. Invitational on Saturday. The teams both placed well in the meet. The men finished third with 91 points in the 8K, just one point behind the second place Maine-Farmington team. The women finished sixth in the 6k with 157 points.

Men's Recap:

Joseph Acey (Forestport, N.Y.) and John Hohl(Webster, N.Y.) were the top two finishers for the Wildcats. Acey finished in 13th place with a time of 28:26.8. His teammate Hohl crossed the finish line just two seconds later in 14th place with a time of 28:28.4. Christopher Bouchard (Latham, N.Y.) finished the 8K in 29:10.4; good for 19th place. Oliver Craine (Syracuse, N.Y.) was the fourth Wildcat across the line in 20th place with a time of 29:14.8.

Women's Recap:

Rebecca Laporte (New Hartford, N.Y.) led the women's team with a 19th place finish. Her 6K time was 24:34.8. Kiersten Albertson (Kirkville, N.Y.) was the second finisher for the Wildcats in 25:09.4; good for a 22nd place finish. Jalize Mejia (Bronx, N.Y.)Leanna Oakes (Staten Island, N.Y.), and Kristen Jordan (Troy, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring runners for the Wildcats.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday when they will host the Wildcat Invitational, the second of the two invitational races that the Wildcats host on a yearly basis. The race is scheduled for an 11:00 AM starting gun.
