COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's cross country team placed third this Saturday at the 2016 Steven A. Warde Invitational hosted by SUNY Cobleskill. The Wildcats scored a total of 69 points in route to their third place finish. They placed four runners in the top 15.
Joseph Acey (Forestport, N.Y.) led the way for the Wildcats. He placed 4th out of 86 runners and averaged a 1k time of 3:54. His total time was 31:13.56, just 3:29 off the lead runner. The next two runners; John Hohl (Webster, N.Y.) and Christopher Bouchard (Latham, N.Y.) came in 9th and 10th overall with times of 31:59.96 and 32:04.37.
Rounding out the top five for the Wildcats were Oliver Crain (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Ashton Walters Randolph, N.Y.). Crain placed 12th with a time of 32:13 and Walters placed 39th with a time of 36:45.
The Wildcats will be back in action next week when they travel to Johnson State for an invitational on the 17th of September. The meet is scheduled for a 10:00 AM start.
