SUNYIT to Host NEAC Championship Meet this Saturday, Nov. 2

MARCY, N.Y. – SUNYIT will host both the men's and women's NEAC Cross Country Championship meets this Saturday.

The women's race is scheduled to go off at 11:00 am, while the men's race will follow at noon.

Leading the way for the SUNYIT Women's Cross Country team will be Sarah Murphy (Utica, N.Y. / Notre Dame). The first-year runner will be looking to equal or surpass her 18th place finish of a month ago, when SUNYIT last competed on their home course as part of the Wildcat Weekend Invitational on September 28th.

That outcome would be just fine with the top runner on the SUNYIT Men's Cross Country Team as well, as sophomore Derek Struck (Knox, N.Y. / Berne-Knox-Westerlo) won that very same race, finishing with a course record time of 26 minutes and 37 seconds on the 8-kilometer course.

The men's team is having a fantastic year with four top-3 finishes in the 7 races in which they've competed this season.

Before the race, check out this interview with senior Dylan Parry (Voorheesville, N.Y. / Voorheesville) from earlier in the year over on our Facebook page.
