Derek Struck Picks Up His Second NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week Award This Season

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – SUNYIT freshman cross country star Derek Struck (Knox, N.Y. / Knox-Berne-Westerlo) earned his second recognition as NEAC Men's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, this time sharing the award as a co-winner with Alexander Kane of the Penn St.-Abington men's cross country team.

Struck has been on a tear to start the season, finishing second in the 8K Houghton Invitational on Saturday to help the SUNYIT men to a 2nd-place overall finish in the 15-team event.

The freshman has now finished second or better in three of his four races this season, starting his career with a bang at the team's first meet, the 6K SUNYIT Invitational, which he won (for which Struck picked up his first SAOW award back on September 10th).
