GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Women's Soccer standout Stephanie Wurz (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Notre Dame) and rookie Derek Struck (Knox, N.Y. / Berne-Knox-Westerlo) ran away with 2012's inaugural North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Student-Athlete of the Week honors in their respective sports on Monday.
Earlier in the day the pair were also named SUNYIT's Wildcats of the Week for the week ending September 9, 2012.
Through five games Wurz leads the NEAC conference with 6 goals, and helped SUNYIT to wins over St. Elizabeth and Wilson during a pair of weekend games at Wildcat Stadium.
The freshman Struck burst onto the scene at SUNYIT's first race of the season, which also happened to be SUNYIT's lone home meet. Struck won the 6th Annual SUNYIT Invitational (6k) by a landslide, and set a course record in the process with a time of 19:53.
