Men's and Women's Cross Country Compete in Cazenovia College Homecoming Invitational

CAZENOVIA, NY – The men's and women's cross country squads traveled to Cazenovia College on Saturday to participate in the Cazenovia College Homecoming Invitational. The Men's team placed fourth out of ten teams with 93 points while the women placed tenth out of ten finishing with 283 points.

Leading the pack for the men was senior runner Robert Doss (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) who placed 6th overall with a time of 28:37. Sophomore Chris Wicks (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) placed tenth at 29:02. Rounding out the scoring five were senior Steve Gagnier (Croghan, NY/Beaver River) who came in at 30:56 placing 24th, freshman Cody Russell at 31:02 placing 25th and sophomore Dylan Parry (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) who finished with a time of 31:12 and in the 28th spot overall.

Sophomore Aaron Wroblewski (Rome, NY/RFA) placed 52nd with a time of 34:02, Zachery Gural (Summit, NY/Faith Academy) placed 54th at 34:09, freshman Tom Brockway (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Boston Lake) came in at 37:16 placing 71st and freshman Evan Markessinis (Albany, NY/Columbia) placed 76th at 38:20.

On the women's side, senior Bridget McMahon (Avoca, NY/Avoca) placed 29th overall with a time of 24:18. Junior Brittany Salm (Poland, NY/Poland) finished second for the Wildcats and 72nd overall at 29:16. Sophomore Ivy Vasquez (Bronx, NY/Preston) ran a 31:31 5k placing her in the 77th spot, while senior Susan St. Louis finished in 33:31 and placed 81st. Rounding out the scoring squad was freshman Paige McCandless (Brookly, NY/Edward R. Murrow) who finished in 35:36 placing 83rd. Junior Stephanie Deperno (Clayville, NY/Notre Dame) ended the day with a time of 41:48 and placed 86th.

The men's team travels to Hamilton, NY to participate in the Hamilton Invitational Saturday Oct. 8th. The race is scheduled to begin at noon.
