SUNYIT SWEEPS UTICA COLLEGE, 3-0

 

UTICA, NY – The SUNYIT women's volleyball team defeated Utica College, 3-0, on Tuesday at the Campus Center Gymnasium.  With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-1 on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 0-1.

 

Sophomore Kaitlyn Harrington (Central Square, NY/Central Square) led the team in kills with 15, with sophomore Juleah Vedder (Dolgeville, NY/Doleville) banking 10. 

 

Defensively, junior Jessica Sass (Kingston, NY/Kingston) came up with 16 digs while Vedder kept 10 alive. 

 

The scores of the match were 25-16, 25-17, and 25-10.

 

SUNYIT takes to the hardwood next on the road, when the Wildcats travel to Potsdam, NY this weekend, where they'll take part in the Potsdam State Invitational. The first match of the invite is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start against Potsdam, followed by a match against Southern Vermont at 8:00 p.m.  Saturday the 10th, the women are scheduled to take on Oswego State at 11:00 a.m.
