READING, PA – The SUNYIT men's cross country team had a total of 32 points to win its first-ever NEAC Championship, which was held at Penn State Berks Saturday.  The women's team finished in ninth place with a total of 185 points.

Head coach Bill Tylutki was named the NEAC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year after guiding SUNYIT to the NEAC title in addition to three second place finishes and one third place finish this season.

The men's squad had four of the top five individual finishers, led by junior Robert Doss (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) and senior Chris Senez (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), who both crossed the finish line at 28:31 to finish in second place and third place, respectively.  Senior Ryan Darling (Jordan, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) finished six seconds later to place fourth overall, while freshman Chris Wicks (Syracuse, NY/Baker) took fifth place with an end time of 28:41.  All four Wildcats were named to the All-Conference First Team. 

Freshman Dylan Parry (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) placed 18^th with a time of 30:21 and junior David Culbertson (Rome, NY/Smithfield-Selma) placed 20^th with a time of 30:30 to round out the top Wildcat finishers, with both runners being selected to the All-Conference Third Team.

SUNY Cobleskill's Conor Cashin took home NEAC Men's Runner of the Year honors after finishing in first place with a time of 27:55 and helping his squad finish in second place with 45 points.  SUNY Morrisville came in third place with 108 points, followed by Penn State Berks (129) and Wells College (132).

Freshman Leah Senecal (Central Square, NY/Paul V. Moore) was the top runner for the Lady Wildcats, finishing in 18^th place with a time of 22:59 and being named to the All-Conference Third Team.  Senior Susanna Tom (Brooklyn, NY/James Madison) came in 22^nd place with a time of 24:04, while Jessica Stanford (Bath, NY/Avoca Central) finished in 29^th place with a time of 24:10.  Sophomore Stephanie DePerno (Clayville, NY/Notre Dame) and junior Bridget McMahon (Avoca, NY/Avoca Central) both crossed the finish line at 35:41.

The College of Saint Elizabeth's Brittany Hitton came in first place when she crossed the finish line at 19:10 and was named the NEAC Women's Runner of the Year.  SUNY Cobleskill won the women's event for the second year in a row with a team total of 30 points.  Cazenovia came in second place with 90 points, followed by Keuka (108), Morrisville (130) and Harrisburg (136).
