UTICA, NY – SUNYIT freshman Chris Kassay (Lockport, NY/Stairpoint) has been selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending November 7, the NEAC announced Friday afternoon.

 Kassay helped the Wildcats to two victories during dual competition last week, guiding SUNYIT to a 605-324 win over Bard College at Simon's Rock last Friday and a 160-40 win over NEAC rival SUNY Cobleskill Saturday.  Kassay took first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 0:25.23 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 0:56.24 against Bard, then won three events against Cobleskill, including the 200-yard freestyle (0:57.54), the 50-yard freestyle (0:25.70) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.50). 

The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday, November 19 and Saturday, November 20 when they travel to participate in the Potsdam North Country Invitational.  Friday's action will begin at 4:00 pm while Saturday's action will pick up at 10:00 am.
