Men's Swimming Opens Season with Third Place Finish at Hartwick Relays

ONEONTA, NY – The SUNYIT men's swimming team opened its 2010-11 season with a third place finish at the fifth annual Hartwick College Relays this past Saturday. 

 The Wildcats registered third place finishes in seven of the ten races on the day.  Sophomore Bryan Rawlings (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) and freshmen Gavin Craddock (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz), Jacob Ammons (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport), Kory Parsons (Rome, NY/Holland Patent) and Chris Kassay (Lockport, NY/Stairpoint) were all involved in four of those relays.  Rawlings, Ammons, Parson and Kassay teamed up for a third place finish in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:23.44, while Craddock, Ammons, Parsons and Kasay finished third in the 800-yard medley relay with a time of 10:01.50.  

Hartwick won eight of the ten relays to take first place with a team total of 150 points.  The College of Saint Rose finished second with 108 points, followed by SUNYIT with 56 points.

 SUNYIT will be back in action this Saturday when they host the Wildcat Invitational.  The event will begin at 11:00 am.
