MSOC: Diamond Records Hat Trick in Wildcats 6-2 Victory Over Vermont State Johnson.

JOHNSON, VT- The SUNY Poly men's soccer team won 6-2 against Vermont State Johnson on Saturday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference game. With the win, the Wildcats move to 10-4-1 on the season and 7-0-1 in North Atlantic Conference play. With the loss, the Badgers move to 1-14 on the season and 0-7 in North Atlantic Conference play.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Colby Diamond would set the tone of the game early for the Wildcats, scoring in the 10th and 18th minute. Payton Bennett would have an assist on the first goal. In the 21st minute, Abus Mohamed Ali would score, giving the Wildcats a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

Diamond would strike again in the second half to complete the hat trick, this time with the assist coming from Mohamed Ali. The Wildcats would keep their red-hot offense going less than ten minutes later when Jephte Joseph scored his third goal of the season, with Mohamed Ali with the assist again. The Badgers would try to make a push late, with two goals from Lucas Gehring coming in the 80th and 83rd minute. The Wildcats would score one more goal before the game was over, this time coming from Dominick Spychalski on an assist from Joseph.
