MSOC: Wildcats Draw Against Mustangs 0-0.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly men's soccer team tied SUNY Morrisville on Wednesday evening 0-0. Although it was a fast-paced game with many opportunities, neither team was able to find the back of the net in the conference matchup. With the draw, the Wildcats move to 9-4-1 on the season and 6-0-1 in North Atlantic Conference play. The Mustangs move to 4-8-4 on the season and 3-2-2 in North Atlantic Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Right from the start, both teams played a very up-tempo game with lots of offensive chances, but neither team was able to score a goal in the first half. The back line for the Wildcats and the Mustangs both did a great job clearing the ball and preventing their goalkeepers from having to make a lot of saves.

In the second half, the up-tempo pace would continue, with more shots happening in the second half than in the first half. The Wildcats would have a chance late in the game on a beautiful cross in front of the Mustangs goal, but they wouldn't be able to connect and time would expire. The Wildcats remain in sole possession of first place in the NAC West Division with one conference game remaining against Vermont State Johnson.

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 21st against Vermont State Johnson for a NAC matchup. The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM.
