MSOC: Nimineh Records Two Goals In Wildcats 6-1 Victory Over SUNY Cobleskill.

UTICA, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly men's soccer team defeated SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday afternoon 6-1 while celebrating senior day. Five different Wildcats would score in the team victory. With the win, the Wildcats move to 9-4 on the season and 6-0 in North Atlantic Conference play. The Fighting Tigers move to 4-7-1 on the season and 2-4 in North Atlantic Conference play.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The scoring would get started early on Saturday afternoon for the Wildcats when Thomas Nimineh scored an unassisted goal in the 9th minute to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. The junior would strike again in the 23rd minute for his sixth goal of the season. The Wildcats would dominate in shots in the first half, controlling the ball and keeping the Fighting Tigers from recording a shot as well. The Wildcats would take a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

The Wildcats would spread the scoring in the second half with four different players recording a goal. Jael Casimir, Mo Ndow, Dominick Spychalski, and Miguel Casarrubias would all find the back of the net for the Wildcats to secure the 6-1 conference win. Connor Fancher would score a goal in the 88th minute for the Fighting Tigers off a free kick to prevent the shutout. With the win, the Wildcats have now won six straight contests and will look to continue their strong play with three regular-season games remaining.
