MSOC: Wildcats Beaten in Non-Conference Play by Hamilton.

CLINTON, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team faced a formidable opponent in Hamilton College, resulting in a 5-1 loss. Despite their efforts, the Wildcats couldn't secure a victory in this non-conference matchup, bringing their season record to 3-4.

 

The game started with an early goal by Hamilton's Ross Eagle in the 11th minute, assisted by Luke Peplowski. Hamilton continued their offensive push, with Luke Ehrenfreund scoring the second goal in the 28th minute. SUNY Poly fought back, as Payton Bennett found the back of the net unassisted in the 40th minute to make it 2-1.

 

However, Hamilton regained control in the second half, with Ross Eagle and Ravi Travers each adding a goal to extend their lead. Patrick Ferrare sealed the victory for Hamilton with another goal in the 70th minute, assisted by Luke Ehrenfreund.

 

SUNY Poly goalkeeper Tyler Barth made eight saves during the match. Hamilton's Kai Haesslein put on a strong performance in goal, making three saves to earn the win.

The Wildcats will face the SUNY Canton Kangaroos on Wednesday, September 27th. The Wildcat's second NAC game of the season is scheduled for a 6:30 PM start in Canton, NY.
