MSOC: Wildcats Open Conference Play With 1-0 Victory Over SUNY Delhi.

MARCY, N.Y. -  The SUNY Poly men's soccer team beat SUNY Delhi on Saturday afternoon 1-0. It was a rematch of the playoff game from last fall that saw SUNY Delhi victorious 1-0 in the North Atlantic Conference West Division Championship. With the win, the Wildcats move to 3-3 on the season (1-0 in North Atlantic Conference play). With the loss, the Broncos move to 3-2-1 on the season (0-1 in North Atlantic Conference play)

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Broncos would be the first team to have a scoring opportunity in the 13th minute when Ryan Primus made the first save of the game for the Wildcats to keep the score 0-0. The teams would continue to exchange shots, with the Wildcats ending the first half with six total shots, two of which were saved by Jonathan Walch of the Broncos. SUNY Delhi would finish the first half with three shots, one of which was saved by Primus.

In the second half, the Wildcats would score on a goal from Mo Ndow, his second goal of the season. Edward Greene would record the assist on the goal. The fast-paced game would continue in the second half, with both teams stopping scoring opportunities. The Wildcats defense would hold strong and would hang on for the 1-0 victory.

 

NOTABLE STATISTICS:

  • Mo Ndow recorded the game's only goal for the Wildcats.
  • Ryan Primus would record two saves for the Wildcats.
  • Jonathan Walch would record four saves for the Broncos.
