MSOC: Seven Wildcats Score in 8-0 Conference Win Over NVU-Lyndon.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team defeated NVU-Lyndon on Sunday afternoon 8-0. Seven different Wildcats would score goals which would be a season high. Wakeley Banker would have the lone two goal game for the Wildcats, his second multi-goal game of the season. With the win, the Wildcats move to 7-3-3 on the season and 4-0-2 in North Atlantic Conference play.  

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Wildcats scored early in the first half in the 8th minute with a goal from Wakeley Banker, with the assist coming from Payton Bennett. The Wildcats would never look back as they would hold the Hornets scoreless Sunday afternoon. Goals from Dominick Spychalski (assist from Abus Mohamed-Ali) and Aboubacar Camara would round out the first half of play for the Wildcats.

The second half saw three different Wildcats score their first goals of the season. Jephte Joseph, Jackson Mateja, and Jacob Samuelsen all found the back of the net. Wakeley Banker and Thomas Tytler also scored in the second half, wrapping up the scoring for the Wildcats. Dominick Spychalski, Xander Novack, and Matthew Han would all record assists in the second half.

 

NOTABLE STATISTICS:

  • James D'Alessio and Chase Coluccio would split the game in net for the Wildcats to help record the teams 6th consecutive shutout.
  • With the two goals, Wakeley Banker now has a team leading six goals on the season.
  • Jakob Cannon would record eight saves for the Hornets.
  • A season high 13 Wildcats recorded either a goal or assist.

 

UP NEXT: The Wildcats will be back in action on Wednesday, October 12th against SUNY Canton for a North Atlantic Conference matchup. The game is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field. Edgar Gomez scored two goals in last year's matchup between the two schools.
