MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's soccer team got their first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win of the season on Saturday 3-2 over Cazenovia College. Four of the five goals in the game were scored in the first half. The game-winning goal was scored in the 85th minute by Thomas Tytler. The Wildcats are now 3-2 this season with a 1-0 record in NAC Play.

THE GOALS:

The Wildcat's first goal of the game was scored on a penalty kick by Wakeley Banker in the 5th minute. It was his second goal of the season.

The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in the 21st minute when a mishandled clear found an unmarked Edgar Gomez in the middle of the box. Gomez floated a shot right over the goalkeeper for his fourth goal of the season.

Cazenovia would answer the two SUNY Poly goals with two of their own in a two-minute span. The first was a well-placed cross from the left side by Brandon Patterson that found Miruho Kandagira who shot the low right corner for a goal. Kandagira also scored Cazenovia's second goal of the game when he beat two Wildcat defenders and snuck a hard grounder into the net past a diving Chase Colluccio.

SUNY Poly would ultimately seal the deal in the 85th minute when a bouncing ball near midfield was played ahead perfectly by Edgar Gomez to Thomas Tytler who found a seam in the back line. Tytler gathered the pass and chipped a beautiful shot over the head of the Cazenovia goalie to win the game for the Wildcats.
